Our Vision

Bring joy and relief in a sustainable way for Salvadoran children and their families.

Our ACTION

Raise funds and partner with a community-based organization in El Salvador (Quintanilla Amaya Foundation, FQA) to stimulate the local economy of communities facing poverty, through a give-away tour that serves 14 communities already receiving services and case management from the FQA.

COMING UP

Planning in process. Please stay tuned.

about us

We are students from the San Gabriel Valley area. Partnering with The Quintanilla Amaya Foundation (FQA), a Salvadoran-based community organization serving since 2008.

We want to share holiday joy and blessings with children and youth by raising funds to support the toy-giveaway tour led by FQA for this holiday.

PROJECT DETAILs

El Salvador

El Salvador is one of the most densely populated countries in Central America despite being the smallest. There is a large number of children living in poverty. With an estimated population of 6.5 million, the country is confronted with a poverty rate of 22.8%, according to data from the World Bank, prior to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2019. And yet, it rose to 26.2% in 2020 and is expected to increase 2021. (The data are based on the percentage of the Salvadoran population living on less than $5.50 a day, the international poverty standard.) The country needs spaces and projects that not only ensure physical health, but also mental health, which includes giving Salvadoran children hope for a better world.

the project

This project was set up in 2021 to be part of the efforts of bringing hope to Salvadoran children. We partner with the Fundación Quintanilla Amaya, a Salvadoran community based organization focusing on empowering the most vulnerable communities.

We are raising funds to support the FQA's aid and relief efforts this holiday season, which include the following activities:

1. Purchase toys, food from local vendors, and hire local service providers, thus, stimulating the micro and meso economy in target communities.

2. Distribute to children ages 0-15 toys and food that align with their stage of development.

3. Distribute care package to families with extreme need (living on $1.90/ day).

4. Organize children's retreat with workshops, meaningful activities that stimulate their social emotional growth, and teaching the importance and knowledge of caring for our environment.
